Excellent Improvement Over Standard Electrical Tape! May 30, 2009
By Stanley A. Mattos The tape works as advertised and is actually easier to handle than the standard black electrical tape. Be very careful NOT to let this tape touch itself (i.e., wrap back on itself) because it starts to fuse with itself immediately. Just what you want to happen in normal use (e.g., tightly wrapping a splice or repairing a hose leak). I strongly recommend this tape.

Infinite Uses Oct 18, 2009
By Gepetto This tape is great. It sticks to itself but nothing else. I bought it for assembling small wooden boxes I make in my woodshop. One night several members of my family started to list the useful applications for this tape....and the list just went on and on. We actually had a great time with our creative thinking. Highly recommended.

USELESS for standard, household PVC pipe. Mar 19, 2011
By David J. Smith All claims to the contrary this tape will NOT seal small leaks (one or two drops a minute) in household PVC. It bonds to itself just fine, it does NOT bond to the PVC and consequently is USELESS for small leaks around the home and garden. Save yourself the trouble and expense and DO THE JOB RIGHT - repair the leak - don't try to paper over it!
'RESCUE TAPE' or is it a "CLONE"? Feb 01, 2012
By SmokeJumper
"Outspoken"
I am questioning if this is the ORIGINAL "RESCUE TAPE" or a "CLONE" / "KNOCK-OFF" of the real deal. PACKAGING is non-existent--- it is simply wrapped around a cardboard core, unevenly at that, was contaminated with I have no idea what; in general it looked and performed POORLY. It "appears to have been" subjected to HEAT, fingers, contaminates and in general "LOOKS FAKE"! Look for yourselves .... see PACKAGED 'RESCUE TAPE" -- then look at "THIS STUFF"! BE WARY OF BUYING THIS PARTICULAR PRODUCT IN THE FORM YOU SEE! BE WARY OF ANY SUPPOSED "RESCUE TAPE" THAT IS NOT PROPERLY PACKAGED TO PROTECT IT FROM THE MANY CONTAMINATES WHICH WILL DEGRADE PERFORMANCE!
In ELECTRICAL APPLICATIONS the real RESCUE TAPE insulates to 8000 volts with a single layer, bonds to the jacket of coaxial cable WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM so long as the cable is first cleaned properly. Each subsequent layer improves the water-resistant seal, electrical resistant properties and general function AND DURABILITY.
THIS PARTICULAR UN-PACKAGED PRODUCT did NOT PERFORM IN ANY WAY close to the "Rescue Tape" I have used in the past; tape which came sealed from the elements and other contamination until ready to use. IT WORKED AS DESCRIBED by the REAL MANUFACTURER while THIS PRODUCT as delivered was pure and simple JUNK.
AGAIN -- I QUESTION IF THIS IS REALLY "RESCUE TAPE" or is a "CLONE, KNOCK-OFF, COPY, ETC". IF it is "Rescue Tape" it has been POORLY STORED and should NEVER HAVE BEEN ALLOWED TO BE PASSED OFF AS "NEW"!
rescue tape Jul 30, 2010
By james f schmick I recently used the tape to try and repair a pinhole leak in a garden hose... It held for about 5 minutes but then started squirting out again. I wrapped more on the problem area and again it held for a short period of time before it started to leak again.. It was nothing like the rescur tape website shows. I cant imagine trying to fix a radiator hose as described.
I would not recommend this product for anything with pressure.
